About Us
The Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation is responsible for maintaining the integrity and probity of the gambling industry in Queensland and ensuring that, on balance, the state and the community benefit from gambling.
Gambling regulation conducted by QOGR encompasses the regulation of casinos, charitable gambling, gaming machines, interactive gambling, keno, lotteries and wagering. Regulatory activities include licensing premises and persons, investigating complaints, conducting prosecutions and ensuring industry compliance with gambling legislation. QOGR also administers community benefit funds and manages various responsible gambling programs. To effectively perform the involved activities, QOGR currently employs approximately 200 staff.
QOGR, which is located at 33 Charlotte Street, Brisbane (4th, 5th and 6th floors), also has on-site inspectors in each of Queensland's four casinos -
- Gold Coast (Conrad Jupiters)
- Townsville (Jupiters Townsville)
- Brisbane (Conrad Treasury)
- Cairns (Reef).
A gaming inspector is also based in the Rockhampton regional office.
